Here I go again!

I'm jumping back on the blogging horse almost a year later! So many things have gone on in my life! I am on a new mission with this blog. I will be promoting math,  fun activities, and other subjects that take place at The Checkerboard Table and beyond! I must admit that I am a newbie when it comes to working a video camera lol. Get yourself ready for some raw and uncut vids featuring my kiddos! Learn and play along with us as we illustrate that learning happens everywhere, not just in front of a book! I also promise to learn how to properly edit videos! Until then, raw and uncut it is. Excuse my children in advance! ;)

Jacee's 5th Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my baby!
    Yesterday was a loooong day!

I woke up to receive my morning package, Dallas lol, and tried to get a couple of more moments of shut eye. Shortly after, I went downstairs and ground up some brown jasmine rice and made a nutritious and delicious breakfast of apple cinnamon rice cereal. The kids actually said that they liked it! When everyone was ready and out the door, we had to wait for Daddy because he couldn't find his belt!

Gigi and Dallas waiting for
the movie!
When we got the theater, there was a large line of children waiting outside. I was really hoping that we didn't end up in the same theater but as it turns out, they ended up in the theater next to ours lol. As we sat down in our seat, I noticed a little girl next to me who looked a lot like my little cousin. I continued to stare at her when finally I heard the woman she was with say her name. It so happened that I had unknowingly sat down next to my cousin lol. This was not to last long. As it turns out, Dallas is not a fan of the theater. I fed him, change him into a fresh diaper, and offered him a bottle but he was not happy about sitting in a dark theater no matter what was on the big screen! So we switched seats to the back of the theater but this was not enough. Eventually we ended up sitting in the hallway for about the entire movie! I also didn't know who I was looking for from the homeschool group...

Ready to bowl!
After the movie we headed toward the bowling alley and got some pizzas on the way. When I walked in the bowling alley, I still didn't know who I was looking for lol. So finally I built up the courage to ask someone and I was lucky enough to get the response that i was looking for! After looking up our free passes on a friend's phone, putting ridiculously huge socks ( because I forgot to bring socks, one size fits all my butt -_-), and returning three different pairs of shoes that were to small, the kids were ready to bowl for the first time! The older kids helped out and new friendship were established.

That looks heavy!
How do you play again?
I had a nap when we came home and later in the evening we celebrated Jacee's birthday with family, cake, pizza, and ice cream. She received a new bike, Legos, new hair bows, a Hello Kitty ball, sand art, and a princess tea set. When asked

Big girl bike!
if she had a good birthday, she said yes. Mission accomplished! Now if all that wasn't enough, we are having a party on Sunday. Phew!

O_O

I haven't blogged in a few years but I find that it helps me to preserve my memories so here I go again!

Jae will be 5 tomorrow and we will be going to the movies and bowling with a new support group that we just joined. We will have to wake bright and early!

Today I downloaded some new educational apps on Daddy's computer and the kids are enjoying the "games". We also went to the park for a little while instead of the library which was nice.

Last night I put in one of the biggest orders for curriculum ever! I can't wait to get it in the mail and put it to use!

Anyway, I'm excited about recording our homeschool journey and I hope that this blog will motivate me and stay on track!
